Bathroom storage, dispensers and accessories that clear surfaces — most of it fitted without drilling a single hole.

No-drill bathroom fittings are the sensible option in a rented flat, and they work properly as long as you respect two limits. They need a smooth, non-porous surface: tile, glass and sealed acrylic are fine, but painted plaster and textured tile are not, and neither is a join that crosses a grout line, because the adhesive cannot seal against the gap. And they need curing time — most adhesive pads want twenty-four hours before you hang anything on them, which is the step people skip and then blame the product for.

A shower caddy full of bottles is heavier than it looks — a litre bottle is a kilogram on its own — so err well under whatever an adhesive fitting claims to hold.

Soap dispensers and toothbrush holders do the most for a cluttered sink for the least money, simply by replacing five mismatched bottles with one. Anything with a pump or a battery in it is splash-resistant rather than submersible, so keep it off the floor of the shower.
